Honor may bring its laptops to India this year
Honor is so far known as a smartphone manufacturer in India
with a fleet of impressive devices that have changed the mobile phone market in
the country. With phones like Honor 8 Pro, Honor 9 lite, Honor 9i, Honor 7X,
Honor 10 and the recently launched Honor 7A and 7C, this young brand is making
it clear that it is going to topple many past players.
A recent survey has even reported that Honor is the fastest
growing smartphone brand in India with 146% of growth rate. Popular brands like
Xiaomi and OnePlus are far behind and are feeling the heat. And it seems that
Honor is not yet satisfied; they are planning to bring their brand of laptops
to India pretty soon.
This is revealed by P Sanjeev, vice-president sales at
Huawei India-Consumer Business Group himself. Huawei is the parent company for
Honor and Mr Sanjeev shared this bit of information on the sidelines of the
launch of the Honor 7A and Honor 7C. In a clear hint that Honor is looking to
expand its product portfolio, we can expect to see some niche laptops in India
in coming times.
Honor launched its first-ever branded laptop in China, the
MagicBook last month. The Windows 10-powered Honor MagicBook costs couples of
dollars less than Apple’s MacBook Air. It costs 4,999 yuan in China with Core
i5 (approx. 54,000 INR) and 5,6999 yuan with Core i7 (approx. 61,000 INR). Honor
phones have always been pioneers in innovative technology and we can expect the
same from Honor MagicBook.
