Why you shouldn’t play around with a low-power smartphone battery
When we buy a smartphone, we keep many things under consideration- camera, build quality, display, processor, ROM/RAM and what not but we tend to overlook one important aspect. Yes, the battery. We just take it for granted thinking that we will find a plug-point anywhere or depend upon the power bank. Yet, there are occasions when the receding power meter defies everything to be a burden on us.
This has happened to me many a times that the sinking battery caused more than just non-connectivity in my life. One of those I would like to share with you guys today. This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was in between a dull and regular working Saturday and was waiting for the day to be over. Then around 5.30 I got a call from one of my friends telling me to be in his house for a get together. I said WOW! So I left for his place without thinking much, the eagerness to make that lazy Saturday somewhat fun drove me hard. So hard that I forgot to carry the power bank! I thought, it’s cool, I have the charger.
I reached his place and soon the get together turned into a full-fledged party. The fun and conversations got so engaging that I forgot to charge my phone and then suddenly there was a power cut. One hour passed, then two and then the clock kept on ticking. It was a long black out. My phone battery died out eventually leaving me with the problem of booking a cab. I thought fine, I will go out and grab an auto. That was sorted but one thing lingered which I forgot totally – my family back home.
My family lives in a far off town from where I am living these days, so they call often to hear from me. But I just thought its ok, they are not going to call me today. Be what it may, I left my friend’s place at around 1 AM and had to wait for 15 minutes before I could convince an auto to go to my place. He charged a bomb but I had no options. Wish my battery didn’t die out! However I reached home and slept away putting my phone on charge.
The next morning, I got a knock on my door. I open it and guess who was there? My father! The story goes like this – last night he tried to call me but my phone was not reachable. Imagine the amount of panic parent create when such things happen. My family is no different. He said all in my home were worried sick for me and he drove down at 2 AM to check on me. I mean, all these hassles for a low power battery.
After that the first thing I did was started looking for a phone with a powerful battery which lasts longer than the regular ones. But they come with phones that are way out of my budget of under 20K. But a recent buzz has had my hopes high. I hear that upcoming Honor Play is going to be launched in India soon and the phone is believed to be under 20K.
